Autism Center for Excellence (ACE)

Children with autism and other developmental needs are represented in foster care at higher rates than the general population, and navigating multiple systems can make an already difficult transition even more complex for children and the families caring for them. Catholic Guardian Services created the Autism Center for Excellence to bring greater understanding, coordination, and specialized support to children with developmental needs in foster care.

ACE works alongside children, parents, foster parents, and care teams to connect families to assessments, developmental and behavioral supports, educational advocacy, caregiver guidance, and other individualized services. By surrounding both the child and the adults who care for them with the right support, ACE helps strengthen stability, build caregiver confidence, and create environments where children are understood for their strengths and have greater opportunities to thrive.
