Jane and Edward Kuhner Fund

ESTABLISHED in 2019 by longtime Catholic Guardian donor and friend Robert A. Kuhner, the Jane and Edward Kuhner Fund provides vital support for children in foster care who need mentorship and services to enhance their education and strengthen their career path.

This fund opens doors to internships and apprenticeships, empowering young people within Catholic Guardian’s Foster Services Program to build a foundation for future success. Through this program, New York City youth have gained access to career opportunities across diverse fields, including trades, technical skills, healthcare, and more.

For many of these students, who are not on a traditional college-bound path, this program offers a critical lifeline—providing them with the tools, resources, and confidence they need to succeed in their chosen fields.

Sponsor 1 Youngperson ’s 8-Week Externship: $ 3,500

You can sponsor one internship, support multiple students, or contribute to the overall fund. By contributing to the Jane and Edward Kuhner Fund, you are providing foster care youth with the mentorship, education, and career opportunities they need to achieve their dreams. Together, we can break barriers, strengthen career paths, and build brighter futures for these deserving young individuals.

Seeking Opportunities for NYC Youth

CATHOLIC GUARDIAN SERVICES IS CONNECTING FOSTER CARE YOUTH WITH transformative career-building opportunities through the Jane and Edward Kuhner Fund. We are looking to expand this program to offer new pathways for success and invite partners across industries to join us in this vital mission. Are you in corporate, trades, technical, healthcare, or another field?

We are seeking partners to provide:

  • Paid externships, apprenticeships, or internships

  • On-the-job training

    Program details:

  • Time commitment: 25 hours per week for 8 weeks
