Building Tomorrow’s Workforce: Expanding Pathways to Meaningful Employment
October 13, 2026
At Catholic Guardian Services, we believe people should have opportunities to develop their talents, build confidence, and pursue meaningful employment.
Catholic Guardian Services’ Journey foster care team and Developmental Disabilities Programs recently joined together to host the first Building Tomorrow’s Workforce webinar, an initiative designed to strengthen connections with employers and create more pathways to employment for the people we serve.
The presentation explored how businesses and community partners can help open doors to meaningful employment while also strengthening their own talent pipelines. It introduced participants to the work of Catholic Guardian Services and highlighted opportunities for employers to connect with individuals who are ready to contribute their skills and talents in the workplace.
For people with developmental disabilities, access to meaningful employment can be an important part of greater independence, inclusion, and participation in their communities. Young people preparing for adulthood can similarly benefit from opportunities to build professional experience, develop workplace skills, and establish connections that support their future goals.
The first Building Tomorrow’s Workforce presentation generated conversations and interest in connecting Catholic Guardian Services teams with additional business leaders, professional networks, and community organizations.
And this is only the beginning.
Catholic Guardian Services plans to continue building employer partnerships and expanding opportunities that can help the people we serve pursue their potential and thrive in their communities.
Businesses, professional networks, and community organizations interested in learning more about Building Tomorrow’s Workforce or hosting a future presentation are encouraged to connect with Catholic Guardian Services.
We congratulate our Journey and Developmental Disabilities teams on this important first step and look forward to growing the initiative throughout New York City
