Jake is an investment funds partner in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Jake's practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, structured equity transactions, minority interest sales and other transactions involving public and private investment management firms, broker-dealers and related businesses. In addition, his practice frequently includes structuring complex incentive compensation and equity ownership arrangements for principals of investment management firms. He also advises private investment funds on a range of complex business transactions in the secondary market, including traditional portfolio sales, stapled secondary offerings, secondary direct transactions, fund restructurings and other GP-led transactions. Jake has significant experience working with clients structuring investment funds in Europe, the Middle East and across Latin America. His second language is French. Jake is based in New York but is originally from Michigan. He has worked in a few locations over the course of his career, including Canada, Luxembourg and Belgium.
