Ania Krasniewska Shahidi
Global Advisory Services Leader in the Human Resource Practice at Gartner, GVP

Ania Krasniewska Shahidi is the Global Advisory Services Leader in the Human Resource Practice at Gartner, and a Group Vice President. She leads a team of over 100 executive advisors, specialists and executive education experts who enable clients to benchmark performance against best-in-class organizations, as well as achieve critical business objectives through successful talent and functional strategies. Ania also Chairs the Gartner HR Symposium (formerly ReimagineHR) conferences in Orlando, London and Sydney.

Ania joined Gartner (formerly CEB) in 2006, as a research consultant in the Finance practice. She also managed the Compensation and Benefits (now Total Rewards) programs globally, designing products and research in the areas of pay plan and incentive design, pay equity, manager effectiveness, rewards and recognition programs, and global compensation structures. Ania has built HR terrain expertise in the leadership, development and succession management areas, as well as issues related to future of work and hybrid environments. She is also an SME across multiple terrians including AI in the Workforce, Inclusion and CHRO trends. She leads research, executive level events and presentations across multiple c-suite audiences, press interviews and large-scale conferences.

Ania has played a dual role during her time at Gartner, leading executives in building their talent strategies, while also designing, implementing and evaluating strategies for her own teams. She has incorporated early career onboarding programs, overseen shifts to global and dispersed working strategies and facilitated a series of agile sprints to surface structure and approaches to future-forward work strategies.

Prior to joining Gartner, Ania worked for the management consultancy of A.T. Kearney, concentrating on projects related to foreign direct investment strategy and regional FDI promotion, as well as helped to manage their CEO Roundtable program. Ania has taught at the University of Maryland, has been published and quoted in industry related press, and frequently speaks at executive gatherings and forms, as well as industry related events.

Ania holds an M.A. degree in International Economics and International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, and a B.A. degree in Political Science and French from the University of the South (Sewanee). Ania grew up as a first-generation immigrant and lucky recipient of the green card lottery with her parents, first in Chicago and then in Fargo, North Dakota. During her summers, she has volunteered for orphanage care with Missionaries of Charity in Moscow, Peru and Jamaica, as well as taught aquaculture in farming communities in the rural Philippines based on the principles of rural reconstruction theory.

Ania is currently based in Washington, DC. She is an avid photographer and an enthusiastic reader of quirky biographies, and mother to two children.
