Celebrating the Impact of Our 2026 Back-to-School Drive
Thanks to the extraordinary leadership of Women in Funds and campaign co-chairs Anabelle Perez Gray, Nathali Partyka Zamora, and Maryam Sayyed, our 2026 Back-to-School Drive nearly doubled its fundraising goal and helped provide backpacks, school supplies, and other essentials for more than 200 elementary-school children in Catholic Guardian Services’ foster care programs.
Our Journey team in the Bronx brought the campaign to life through a special Back-to-School distribution for children and families, creating a day centered on preparation, encouragement, and belonging.
We were also grateful to welcome community leaders who came to support the children and families we serve, including Council Member Justin Sanchez, District 17 (Bronx), and Wendy Hewlett, Chief of Staff to Assembly Member Eddie Gibbs, District 68 (Harlem).
For a child in foster care, something as simple as a new backpack can carry a much bigger message: You are worthy. You matter. And there are people standing alongside you.
We are deeply grateful to Women in Funds, our campaign co-chairs, donors, volunteers, staff, community partners, and everyone who helped make this effort possible!
